Roots Jamaica
Resource Village community experience -spend a day in one of our rural villages in central Jamaica and experience the roots of our Jamaican heritage. You are treated to a community welcome in a private home where you will be entertained by both the young and old from the community while sampling local food. Then walk around the community with the citizens and be led by hands of friendship while discovering the roots of Resource including one of the Marcus Garvey Liberty Hall Centres, old churches and more. You will also hear the stories of Jamaica from the older citizens and enjoy genuine rural hospitality…………US$50 per person (excluding transportation) including lunch and refreshments
Taste of Jamaica
Village hopping country cuisine community experiences in the central and south area of Jamaica where you can learn to cook Jamaican cuisine in a natural setting with the community. Then eat with them afterwards and enjoy the taste of rural Jamaican food. Country cuisine in villages include: preparing Jamaica’s national dish – ackee and saltfish with spicy calalloo, dumplings, bammy, fried plantain. Also learn the old time way of making bammy from cassava (a root vegetable), the old time way of making coffee and tasting it afterwards. Enjoy sampling some of the tasty fruits of Jamaica at Porus with Sharon and family – naseberry, ortaniques, starapples, tangerines and so much more to delight you.Taste sugar cane, plantain tarts, coconut gizzarders at the SWA Craft Centre Mandeville and enjoy Appleton Rum specials at the Appleton Rum Factory. Taste hot peppered shrimps and fried fish and bammy in Middle Quarters with Billy Kerr and his family and visit Little Ochi in Alligator Pond on a fishing beach and enjoy lobster, fish and other seafood while looking at the sunset and interacting with the community.

Jamaica Naturally
Enjoy nature at its best in the many rural villages in the central and south areas of Jamaica – in one day you can visit at least 6 villages and discover the inner beauty of Jamaica.
Resource village where you can discover many of Jamaica’s fruits trees and farm products then take a country walk together with nature and with the community to Gut River and Alligator Pond if you feel adventurous and an easy drive – here you will see where the mountains meet the sea with rivers alongside the sea – refreshing and spectacular. Then travel towards Bamboo Avenue which is one of St. Elizabeth’s prize attractions and stop at YS falls to enjoy a family property’s natural experience with waterfalls, trees, 25 of Jamaica’s 27 birds that are endemic to Jamaica and if you have time - swim and be refreshed.
Then on to Jamaica’s oldest seaport town Black River which has the longest river in Jamaica – the Black River with crocodiles, birds, mangroves and authentic plants – enjoy a Safari Tour with pioneer of the Black River tour, Charles Swaby. After lunch, travel to Treasure Beach and discover natural rustic beaches and wonderful farm and fishing country life with Miss Effie of 4 M’s cottage and Jason of Jakes Village. The tour ends at Lovers Leap in Southfield – a 700’ height above sea level with the most spectacular view of the south coast of Jamaica with a refreshing wind and sunshine.
